Obituary

Allan Raymond Harris, of Brooklyn, New York, departed this earth peacefully on March 23, 2026.

Allan was born on February 5, 1955, at St. Mary's Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Raymond and Janet Harris. He was raised in Brooklyn, where he built a life rooted in family, faith, love, and community—values instill in him by his loving Christian parents. Allan attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn, New York. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1974 to 1976 and was honorably discharged. Following his service, Allan returned to Brooklyn and to his family, bringing with him the discipline, commitment, and values that he carried throughout his life. After returning from the military, Allan began working at his father's East Coast Radio Shop in Brooklyn, New York. There, he became known as an excellent mechanic, skilled in repairing two-way radios and a wide range of electronic equipment. Known for his strong work ethic and resourcefulness, Allan was someone you could always depend on. He had a deep love for his family, traveling, and photography—capturing meaningful moments and memories wherever life took him. He enjoyed traveling the world alongside his devoted wife, Debora Harris. The two shared over 30 beautiful years of marriage, building a life grounded in love, loyalty, and unwavering partnership. Allan joined First Calvary Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York, where he faithfully served and later became a Deacon. He had a deep love for his pastor, his church, and his church family. Affectionately known as "the plug," Allan had a remarkable ability to connect people and get things done. If you needed help, guidance, or a solution, Allan either had the answer or knew exactly who did. His generosity, wisdom, and willingness to help others led a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. Allan was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Harris and Janet Harris, and his beloved sister, Linda Harris, whom he loved dearly.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Debora Harris, his children, Chyna ("Chee Chee"), Maurice ("Bucky"), Tiffany (Trayon), and Taniesha; his grandchildren, Dwayne, Tailyr, Saniah, Jordyn, Christian, Maurice, Maedin, Omari and Carter; his bonus grandchildren, Daniella and Trayon Jr.; and his great-grandchildren, Nora, London, and Jaden. Allan is also survived by his brothers, Dana Maurice (Dawn) and Lance (Wanda), along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, and close friends who will forever honor his life and legacy.
