Alton Bernard Sharpton was born on September 15, 1943 in Augusta, Georgia to Evelyn Taylor and Robert Sharpton. He was called home to glory on May 17, 2022 at Wyckoff Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The family relocated to New York City where he was educated in the New York City Public School System. Alton graduated from Grady High School in Carpentry and started a career in furniture repair.

Alton was an entrepreneur and had several businesses including a social club that he ran for several years until his heart was called back to the Lord, a moving company (A&S Moving Company), and a Landlord He joined First Calvary Baptist Church located in Brooklyn, New York.

He was very family oriented and had a reunion every year to keep the family close. Alton was always willing to lend a helping hand and was known for offering his knowledge and experience when called upon.

Alton was preceded in death by his loving mother; Evelyn Taylor, his father; Robert Sharpton, his brothers; Robert Jr. and Milton and two sisters; Carolyn and Janet.

Alton leaves to cherish his loving memories; his wife; Kathleen, his children; Bernard, Leslie, Erina, Theodore and Kevin, his grandchildren, great grandchildren, his brother; Daryl (Hadidi Sharp), his aunt; Betty Samuels and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and of course his First Calvary Baptist Church family and numerous friends.
