Angelica
Ramos
Jun 28, 1926 — Dec 7, 2024
Brooklyn
Angelica Luciano Ramos was a gentle soul with a strength that belied her petite frame, and today we gather not to mourn, but to celebrate a life truly well-lived. Born on June 28, 1926, in the vibrant heart of Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Angelica's journey took her far from her roots. In 1947, at the tender age of 21, she ventured to the bustling cityscape of New York City, driven by dreams and the promise of new beginnings. A talented seamstress by trade, she worked tirelessly with needle in hand and ambition in heart until she met the love of her life, Abelardo Ramos. Their marriage in February 1956 marked the start of a new chapter, and soon after, she embraced the role of a devoted stay-at-home mom.
To know Angelica was to know a woman of profound warmth and compassion — a natural caretaker whose home was always open and whose heart had endless room for family and friends alike. She loved deeply and lived her faith moderately, always finding a balance between her Christian beliefs and the world she cherished. Her nurturing spirit left an indelible mark on her community and an everlasting legacy in the form of her beloved son, David Ramos and his wife Stephanie Ramos; Granddaughters: Dagna Ivette Natoli (Ramos), Courtney Maria Sallette (Ramos), Alexis Angelica Ramos; great grandchildren: Lucian Vincent Ramos-Natoli, Karma Maria Sallette, Zuri Sky Sallette, Azariah Dukes; nieces. nephews; and beloved friend Margarita Muriel. Predeceased by her husband Abelardo and dear son Edgar, Angelica's heart knew loss, yet it continued to shine with kindness and love.
Her presence will be missed at the countless family gatherings where stories were exchanged over abundant meals, laughter echoing through rooms filled with the warmth she brought around the kitchen table.
On Friday, December 13, we will gather at 6 PM at DeKalb Funeral Service in Brooklyn, NY, to honor Angelica's incredible life. Let us come together, share our stories, and remember her not with tears, but with fond smiles and an appreciation for the extraordinary woman she was. Her legacy endures in the hearts she's touched and the family she loved so fiercely.
As we bid farewell, let us remember Angelica with fondness, holding on to the profound impact she had on us all — forever missed, always cherished.
