Arthur West Steele, the son of Oscar James Steele, and Roberta Richardson- Steele was born in Wake County, North Carolina on August 27, 1931

Arthur later traveled to Brooklyn, New York in the late 1950's where he met Elnora Clark.  They married in Emporia, Virginia and had three sons; Calvin Steele, Wesley Steele, and James Steele. Arthur and Elnora were married for 57 years. He also worked in the New York City Police Department Towing Division where he has since retired.

Arthur W. Steele is the brother of the late Winifred Steele, Leon Steele, James Steele, Calvin Steele, Virginia Steele, Dorothy Steele, and Gertrude Steele.

Arthur leaves to cherish his memories, his three caring sons; Calvin Steele and his wife Veverly Steele, Wesley Steele and his wife Angela Steele, James Steele and his wife Chocolate Steele; five grandchildren Candice Steele, Andrew Steele, Adrienne Steele, Cydney Steele, and Mykalia Steele; and his brother Oscar Steele.

Arthur W. Steele departed this life on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Sutton Gardens Assisted Living Facility, Flushing New York.

Arthur can best be remembered by family and friends as funny and straight to the point.  His favorite saying was "Think with your head and not with your feet."
