Stoney
Jul 19, 1953 — Dec 25, 2021
Brooklyn
Belinda Stoney was born July 19, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Mildred Roby
Manning and Thomas Stoney. Belinda Stoney transitioned from her earthly life and
entered her eternal life on December 25, 2021. Linda was preceded in death by her
daughter Jacqueline Maxwell.
Belinda, better known as Mama Linda, loved music. She was a part of a group and
enjoyed singing. Her singing brought joy to so many people. Linda had a big heart and
loved working with children. She worked many years at Head Start with children in the
Bedford Stuyvesant Early Childhood Development Center.
Linda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She found a church
home in Evangel Pentecostal Holiness Church, under the late Pastor Rosa Giles, where
she and her family worshiped and grew. She kept her children in the church where they
stayed busy and active.
Later Linda helped initiate a woman's support group known as Sister Circle and aligned
herself in fellowship with Church of the Living God Outreach Ministries. She loved
working in the church and cherished praising the Lord. There she served faithfully and
contributed to the ministry by uplifting the body of Christ. Linda was a devoted
devotional leader, served on several committees and was the head of the Pastor's Aide
Committee. She loved worshipping, reading and studying the Bible, and helping
others. She taught her children how to pray, testify and to keep God first.
Linda leaves to cherish her loving memories to her siblings: Vivian Roby, Vernon Roby,
