Obituary

Carla Marie Pickett-Williams was born on August 7, 1964, in Maple Hill NC to James and Lena Pickett. Her loving parents would later relocate to Brooklyn NY, when Carla was just three-months old and where she would live out the remainder of her life. Carla, had a beautiful spirit, was extremely caring, loving and most of all giving. Her love for family was unmatched, especially when it came to her mother, siblings, nieces and nephews.

Unfortunately, over the past few months, Carla's health began to deteriorate, due to chronic kidney disease and heart failure. However, through all the pain, Carla continued to reach out daily, never forgetting anyone's birthdays, and frequently left messages on our voicemails, reminding us to watch all of the classic holiday programming, no matter the holiday, just as we did while growing up.

As Carla never had any children of her own, her nieces and nephews were her world. All of them have wonderful memories about their interactions with her and how she made sure to put aside money, so she didn't miss any of their birthdays and graduations. Due to her constant contact and the kindness, she bestowed upon them; her nieces and nephews will forever hold her near and dear in their hearts,.

Carla was Proceeded in death by her husband Westley Williams, a millitary Veteran, Her father James Edward Pickett and her sister Marian Delores Frazier.

Carla leaves to cherish her loving memories; her mother Lena Carlies (Sidney), Brother, James Pickett (Minurka); Sister; Amanda Pickett, Brother, Edward Maware, all of Brooklyn,NY, Brother Jemaine Horne, and Sister Zindra Shavers of Bronx, NY, Step-brother, Daniel Carlies of Monticello, NY,  Nieces; Zenita Davis, Jameelah and Jasmin Pickett, all  of Brooklyn NY, Angelena Arrocho   (Christian) and sons Josiah and Amir Ramos, of Columbus Ohio, Destiny and A'ria Coppedge of Bronx, NY, Imani McNeil of Ocala, Florida; Nephews, Andre Pickett (VikkiLee), Son, Bryce Farr and Daughters, Sophia and Kiera of Poughkeepsie, NY, Jose Arrocho and Alexander Frazier , of Brooklyn, NY,  Walter Frazier (Temera) and three sons, Nasir, Noah, Neil and Stepdaughter Nyaisa of Detroit Michican; Aunts, Nancy Moore (Rev Arnold Moore),of Maple Hill, NC, Helease Clapp of Jacksonville, NC  Mary Moore, Vernell Richardson; Uncle, Maurice Pickett (Katherine), all of Maple Hill, NC and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends and her loving companion; Berlin Middleton.

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard Him call, I turned my back and left it all.
