Carmen Elena Del " China" was born on February 11,1935 in Chriyo, the capital of Panama.
Carmen's parents were Algvipina Lorcana who was a Panamanian woman and Gilberto Perez
who was a Chinese fisherman. Together out of love, Carmen's parents created a family of 15
children and Carmen being the 9th. Carmen was a beautiful young lady who enjoyed going to
school and hanging with her best friend Clementina from the age of 7 years old. Carmen
Attended high school and then not too far later decided to date her childhood sweetheart Author
Del in Panama.
Carmen and Author dated and began creating a family starting with 3 children;
Nitzia, Author and Aurelio. In pursuit to create a better life for his family, Author married Carmen
before leaving for the United States. Author kept his promise and sent for his wife Carmen to
join him a year later in 1956 to help build the foundation to a great future for their children.
Carmen moved to Bergen Street in Brooklyn, NY, with Author. Throughout the years of them
being together, they decided to expand their family by having 3 more children, Angelo, Evelyn,
and Micheal.
Carmen and Author worked hard to provide for their children. Starting a new life
Carmen moved to her new apartment on Prospect and Nostrand where she worked many
different jobs. Carmen eventually met a nice man named Luis Ruiz, who she then began to date
and had her last child Heriberto who made the 7th child. Through the many different changes in
her life, Carmen remained independent and strong. Carmen and Author decided to send for
their now teenage sons Author and Aurelio to come to the United States. She then came across
her biggest job at Tudor Game located at 111 Johnson Street Brooklyn NY. During her time of
working at this location she ended up moving to Farragut houses with her children. During
Carmen's retirement from working 40 years at Tudor Game she decided to spend time doing
what she loved, which was spending time with her family and close friends, cooking, sewing and
with her awesome green thumb planting plants..
