Celebration of Life
Dolores Ola Green
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Revelation 21:4
Dolores Ola Green was born in Harlem, New York, on August 12, 1946. She was the first born child of the late Daniel and Emily Young. She was affectionately called Chuck by family and close friends. She was raised in Harlem and graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School. Dolores gave her life to Jesus Christ as an adult and attended The Brooklyn Tabernacle.
As a young woman she began working for the New York State Court System in Brooklyn's Family Court as a senior office typist on October 1, 1973.
In 1990 she met James Green, a New York City probation officer. They became man and wife on September 28, 1996.
Dolores eventually rose to the title of senior supreme court clerk on August 30, 2001. She retired on June 27, 2014.
Dolores was always a warm, caring and outgoing person who enjoyed spending time with friends and family, traveling, dancing, and caring for her fur baby, her dog Juliet. She was a loving and giving wife, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend who was always willing to help anyone in need.
Dolores had a zest for life and lived every precious moment of it to her fullest until her passing on Friday, October 31, 2025. Dolores was loved by all whose lives she touched. Her infectious smile coupled with her warm and loving spirit will be greatly missed.
Dolores leaves to mourn her passing her husband James, her siblings; Barbara Devault, Daniel Young, Beverly Rhoden, her nieces; Danielle Owens, Lauren DeVault, Emily Young, her nephew Jonathan Rhoden, her great nephews Norwood and Gavin Owens, her brother-in-law Henry Devault and a host of cousins and friends.
Don't Grieve For Me Now I am Free
Don't grieve for me now. I am free. I'm following the path God laid for me
I took his hand when I heard him call, I turned my back and left it all
I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that peace at the close of Day
If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembrance of Joy
A Friendship shared a laugh a kiss, yes, these things I too will miss
Be not burdened with time of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full I've savored much, good friends, good times, a loved one's touch
Perhaps my time seems all too brief, do not lengthen now with undo grief
Lift up your heart & share with me, God wanted me now
He set me Free!
