Dorothy
Holloman
Feb 6, 1933 — Mar 8, 2026
Brooklyn
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
A beautiful and loving soul – strong, admired, and deeply cherished, has departed this life and has been called home on March 8th, 2026. Ms. Dorothy Holloman filled every room with laughter, joy, peace, and happiness. She was gentle with her words and elegant in her style, from her stylish clothes and shoes, her presence was truly unforgettable. Those who knew Dorothy Holloman will always remember her grace and warmth. God knew exactly what he was doing for sure when he created her.
Dorothy Holloman was born on February 6th, 1933, in Macon Georgia to the late Charlie Duncan, a Southern Railroad Mechanic and Ella Thomas a homemaker. She attended school in the Georgia school system in her hometown of Macon Georgia. Later on, after graduating, she followed her sister to New York city to begin a new life. As time went on, she met and married the late Jimmie L. Holloman, a welder, and began working in the public school system as a Paraprofessional at Public School 157 in Brooklyn NY, and then as a Patient Care Navigator at Long Life Home Care from which she retired in 1990. She loved to listen to and sing her gospel music, listen to her jazz collection, and her R&B music as well.
She leaves to mourn 3 sons, Keenan, Darien, And Terence, 3 Daughters, Nina, Paulette, and Carmen. 7 Grandchildren, Vashawn, Erica, Kiana, Nigel, Jay, Kyneisha, and Cleopatra. 6 Great Grandchildren, Isaiah, Mason, Madison, Logan, Skylar, Imani, and 1 great great grand Milani and a host of Nieces and Nephews, family and friends.
Though she has left this earthly life, her love, faith, and beautiful spirit will remain in our hearts and minds forever.
God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you, and lifted you to rest, Gods Garden must be beautiful because he always takes the best. He saw that your road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb, so he closed your weary eyelids and whispered in your ears peace be thine. It breaks our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone, because part of us went with you the day God called you home.
We, the family, wish to express our deepest appreciation and sincere gratitude, for all acts of kindness shown in our time of bereavement.
