Evellyn Becky Castro also known to everyone as "Evey" was born on October 27, 1984 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Inez Amaro and Gilberto "Mimi" Castro. Her father died when she was young, and she was raised by her Dad Burnett Walters as his own. She was the youngest of 8 children from her mother Inez.

Evellyn was raised in Farragut projects where she attended PS 307 as a child. She also attended JHS 265 and later continued her education through programs and trades such as The Allen school for nursing. She tried to finish her education, however being a mother to her children was the main priority in her eyes.

Evellyn was loved, respected, and adored by everyone who knew her. She was known to have a strong, charming, and fearless personality. Evellyn wore her heart on her sleeve, and she would do anything to help a person in need. Whether it be cooking an entire meal for your family or spending her last dime she didn't care she just wanted to contribute. She was smart, vibrant, loved music and had good times with her family and friends. Evellyn was a whole vibe.

Evellyn loved and dedicated her life to her children. She always kept them together and with her. She also made sure she celebrated every holiday for them, wanting to give them joy and love for those moments in time. She was always involved at her children's schools, participating in functions, where she was loved by the faculty and community.

Evellyn is survived by her Dad Burnett Walters and 4 children Evan Castro, Tevin Castro, Khari Knight and Ivy Davis, Her siblings Vincent, Denise, Thania, Erica, Frank, Inez and late eldest sister Margarita, Her nephews and nieces. Also an abundance of cousins and friends.
