Evelyn Marie Johnson was born to Betty Trantham and the late Warren Trantham on October 13, 1956 in Queens, New York. She was the eldest to nine siblings.

Evelyn aka Ebb spent most of her life in Jamaica Queens but moved to Brooklyn until she departed. Evelyn attended Shima Junior High School and Andrew Jackson High School. Growing up she spent all of her time with her siblings and her close friends.

Ebb aka Shorty do wop was a very caring person who loved to be around kids. She was very outspoken and had a lovely personality as well as a beautiful heart. Ebb was very close to and enjoyed spending time with Nathaniel and Dejuan Griffin.

On Monday, December 6, 2021, Evelyn transitioned. Evelyn will be sorely missed, and our lives will be forever changed.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Betty Trantham and Warren Trantham, her sister Denise, brothers Paul Johnson and Terry Trantham.

She leaves behind her son Eric Jamel Johnson, Grand-daughters; Jayda and Janiah Johsnon, Great grandson Tamaaj Padgett. Her siblings Arlena Dean, Warren Trantham, Wendy Trantham, Lisa Trantham and Jerry Trantham. A team of Aunties Everlina Johnson, Maxine Thomas,                               Diane Johnson and one uncle Richard Johnson as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and neighbors.
