Felicia
Carnegie
Mar 21, 1967 — Jun 10, 2023
Brooklyn
Our dear mother Felicia Carnegie sadly passed away on Saturday, June 10th, 2023 .She was very loved and will be missed terribly by many family members, friends and was well respected in the community.
Felicia also known as "Fee", "Ma," or "Diddles" was born on March 21,1967 to Barbara and Felix Carnegie. She was born in Cumberland hospital. Due to the death of Barbara, she was raised by her grandmother Vincent Ismay Neal. Felicia went to PS9, Rothschild Junior High School (M.S.113) and Bishop Loughlin Memorial High school where she met Dexter Harvey and started a family. Felicia had two sisters Nichole and Stephanie, but was raised with her cousins as if they were her siblings, Catherine, Allison, Hector(Pep), Frank, Jeffrey, Cheryl and Stephanie who were like her brothers and sisters.
She always knew how to have a good time no matter where she was or what the event was….she was gonna enjoy herself. She loved to find the good in people and help out whenever she could. She was a "people person," helping everyone in the community, which led to her career as a Home Health Care professional.
Felicia loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. She had granddaughter time with Janelle, her first grandchild. She was always having "that bonding time" with her. She had grandma time with her grandsons. Felicia made sure that her sons were good, especially when it was a party or something…she made sure they ate and had food to take home. She was expecting baby Joseph Jr. who will be here any day now . Every grandchild had a different nickname.
Felicia is survived by her sons Damel, DeShawn and Joseph. Grandchildren Stephen, Jayden, Janelle, Jasir, Kevin, Mahogany, DeShawn Jr., Maximus, Elias and Joseph Jr. (who will be here any day now). Daughters in laws Pamela (Seafood) and Alexandra (Boogie). Her sisters Nichole and Stephanie. Her cousins who were raised with her like her extended brothers and sisters; Hector (Pep), Franky, Jeffrey, Catherine and Allison . Her aunts Sylvia, Elorine and Sandra. She also leaves behind niece Kalijah Stokes, her nephew Joshua Melendez and a host of friends.
Felicia was predeceased by her parents, Barbara and Felix. Her late aunt Eleanor (who was like a mom to her). Her late cousins Cheryl and Stephanie who were her best friends/ cousins. And her loving late grandmother Vincent Neal who was the backbone to the family who raised her.
A great soul serves everyone all the time. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again. Felicia wasn't the typical or basic mom but SHE WAS OUR MOM…AND WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE HER.
