Frances Leach March 30, 1948 – [December 17, 2024]
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frances Leach, who left us [December 17, 2024].
Frances was born on March 30, 1948, in Raeford, North Carolina, to Oglatha and Frank Leach.
She later moved to Brooklyn, New York, where she started a beautiful family with Mr. Julian St. Hartwell. Together, they raised six wonderful children: Anthony, Tara, Tommy, Christina, Tamika, and Ebony.
Frances was known for her nurturing spirit and love of family. She had an innate ability to take care of others, always putting the needs of her loved ones before her own. She had a passion for cleanliness, enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and engaging in long conversations with her daughters, a time she treasured dearly.
A woman of many talents, Frances attended Wilfred Academy, where she honed her skills in hairstyling, developing a love for short, curly cuts.
Frances was preceded in death by her loving spouse, Julian Hartwell and her three brother, Clarence Leach, Frank Leach and Charlie Boy.
Frances will be deeply missed by her children, Anthony, Tara, Tommy, Christina, Tamika, and Ebony. her sister; Barbara Leach, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other family members and friends. Her warmth, kindness, and love of life will be cherished in the hearts of all who knew her.
Rest in peace, Frances.
You will never be forgotten.
Loving God, I lift my heart to You as I grieve the loss of my mother. Thank You for the gift of her life and for the love, wisdom, and care she gave so selflessly. Though my heart aches with her absence, I find comfort knowing she is now in Your presence, free from pain and at peace. Surround her with Your everlasting light and love and grant her eternal rest. Lord, please give me strength and peace in the days ahead and help me honor her memory by living with the love and grace she taught me. Amen."
I don't know anyone as strong as you,
My lady, you've come such a long way.
So much sadness, but not sudden—
The world feels colder, now it's blue.
God's calling for his angels,
And we're left here, in chills.
We don't get the chance to grieve in peace,
I wish we could all heal from this.
So many wishes, so many "what ifs,"
Your voices are the missing touch.
Even just a hug would help—
I wish we had more time with you all.
Grandpa, Boyboy, and now you—
God forgive me, but it's hard to see this as a blessing.
Living without you all just sucks.
I'd be there in a second, if only I could.
We strive to be whole, but it feels like we're broken,
Pieces scattered, and healing seems slow.
But even in the pain, your love still echoes,
A reminder that the love we shared will never let go.
