Gary Ian Anthony Lopez, the son of the late Arlene and Ovington Lopez, born on January 5, 1957, in Belize City, Belize, left us peacefully on February 21, 2025, in Brooklyn, New York, at the age of 68.

In the late 1970s, Gary migrated to the United States, where he began working in construction. Over the course of more than 30 years, he became an expert in his craft, earning the respect of those he worked alongside. His strong work ethic and dedication to his profession were a reflection of his desire to provide for his family and build a better life.

Gary had a passion for good times with those he loved. He enjoyed lively parties, cooking up delicious meals, and gathering with family and friends. Wherever he called home was always filled with laughter, good food, and the joy of sharing special moments with those he cared for.

Gary was a beloved husband to April Miller Lopez for 30 years, a devoted father to three children: Arlene, Gary Jr., and Gregory, and a proud and loving grandfather to one, Nasir Copeland. Gary's life was one of dedication and love for his family, and he was known for his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support.

He is also survived along with his siblings Carla, Dean, Gregory and Ovetta; mother-in-law Barbara Mille; sister-in-law Caren Lopez; and brother-in-law Hector Mena; as well as his extended family, many friends, and all those whose lives he touched over the years. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Carol and Ian. His legacy is one of kindness, strength, and resilience. He worked hard to create a life full of love, laughter, and memories for his family.

Gary will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever.
