Obituary

Hildegard/Hilda "Hildie" Green was a loving and caring companion, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She left this world and her loved ones on April 09, 2023 at the age of 67.
Hilda was born on February 19, 1956, in Frankfurt, Germany.  There she was raised in her youth with siblings to the late Helga Stamm and Jerome Green.  She migrated to the United States at a young age where she settled in New York.  Hilda is the second oldest to 12 siblings of which her younger sibling Aundra Green predeceased her in August 2022.
Hilda bloomed in Brooklyn but spent most of her life residing in Queens, NY where she became a nurturing mother to four children; Shannet, Reggie, Shawna and Tessa, who she unconditionally loved and cared for.  She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren that brought her an abundance of joy and happiness.  In her later years Hilda met the love of her life and companion Leroy Cunningham-Bey of 35 years, who showed her love and support throughout all the days of her life.  Hilda had a great heart with a unique soul.  She cared for others and had a tender love for all the children in the family and neighborhood.  She loved her family dearly and selflessly opened up her home to those in need without hesitation. Hilda had a love for animals that often led her to open her heart and, welcome cats occasionally dogs into the family.  However, she was always fascinated with and had a love for horses as well as unicorns.  There were other joys of her life where Hilda was extremely gifted, talented and creative.  Her favorite past-time was painting landscapes and city skylines.  She was also ingenious at creating things with arts and crafts that her passion ultimately poured into her children and grandchildren.  Hilda thrived outdoors from walks on the beach to strolls in the park, as long as it involved nature.  She found solace in the rain and peace in thunderstorms.  She also was a lover of many genres of music.  Her favorites where Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton, TLC and Sade.  Hilda was a vivacious woman with a humble heart, spirit and a one of a kind soul.
Hilda leaves to cherish her memories of all her loved ones: Companion, Brothers, Sisters, Daughters, Son, Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.  She will be deeply missed and we will forever live on through the nurture, love and values she has instilled within us. Hilda will be fondly remembered for what she has imprinted on her loved ones and her presence in this world.
