Joseph Willie
Aka "Tucco" Francis
Sep 5, 1960 — Jun 12, 2023
Brooklyn
A great soul never dies. Willie wasn't just a typical father. HE WAS OUR DAD…AND WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE HIM.
Our dear father / Tucco passed sadly on June 12th 2023 in New York. He was very loved and will be terribly missed by his children and his family. In his last hours, he was surrounded by his children, sister, and cousins.
Joseph better known as Willie and Tucco was born on the 5th of September in 1960 to Stephen Rene and Philomen Francis on the beautiful island of Saint Lucia. He was raised with his siblings Helen, Caulita, Anna, Augustus Smiley, Claudette, Rodney, Andy, Steve, Maria. As a young boy, Tucco loved to be around his brothers and sisters and help his mom on the farm. He and his brothers Smiley and Rodney would work in the banana field installing hard work ethics that in his later years, he will be known for. His best friend and favorite cousin was Peter. As a young man, he loved getting in trouble and playing jokes with anyone and everyone who crossed his path.
When Willie became of age to move and live on his own, In 1982, with the help and guidance from his older brother Augustus Francis, Tucco was able to come to America, and this is how the true story of Willie/Tucco was created. In 1983, he met his first wife Donna Oxley. In this union, Willie welcomed his first son Steven Willie Francis-Oxley into the world. Willie later went on to have his next son Shane Joesph Francis. Years later, He had two daughters Felicia and Williesha England with Anna Mae England.
No matter where Tucco's path took him. you could always find him on Pulaski, Vernon or Church Ave in Brooklyn New York. Tucco loved to have a good time, play his cards and drink his rum. He was always the life of the party. One thing he was if nothing else Tucco was a hard-working man. Even when he was sick. Tucco was so skilled he could build a house from the ground up.
Tucco always knew how to have a good time no matter where he was. Tucco would have a cigarette in his mouth while he was telling a long and good story. He was a one-man comedian. He always had a quick fast response for you. When Tucco was not outside with family or close friends; he would be home cooking for his family. These activities brought him joy and peace.
To cherish his memories, Joesph Willie Francis leaves behind his sons Steven Willie Oxley and Shane Joesph Francis his two daughters Felicia and Williesha England. His four grandchildren are Maya, Shane jr, Skylar, and Amir. Brothers Augustus, Rodney Smiley, and Andy, Sisters Helen, Caulita, and Claudette, and honorable nieces and nephews and cousins. Special love to Tasha, Charles, Mack, and Richie.
