Obituary

Kingsley Akintayo Akinsola was born on March 1, 1965 to a Muslim family in Ibadan, Nigeria. As a young boy, he excelled in Quranic studies and was poised to one day become an Islamic scholar and Muslim cleric. However, when he was 8 years old, Jesus appeared to him in a vision; in this vision, he saw Jesus as a divine being and not just as a prophet as he'd been taught. He knew at once that what the bible said about Jesus was true, and he began to secretly study the scriptures, which led to his gradual conversion to Christianity. He surrendered his life to Jesus as a young man and received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, thereby becoming a born-again Christian. Kingsley attended college at the Polytechnic in Osun State, Nigeria and earned a degree in Science and Technology in 1985. He worked as a Physics and Math Teacher in Nigeria before emigrating to the United States in 1998.  He was a Math Teacher in New York before becoming a Social Worker for The City of New York. In 2007, he attended Anointed By God Ministries Theological Seminary and became an ordained minister of the Baptist Church.  He was a very effective street evangelist in New York City and was known for carrying the presence of God everywhere he went. He boldly professed the Good News of the Bible and unashamedly preached salvation through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Kingsley was passionate about the conversion of souls; he traveled to the Caribbean on missionary journeys and helped establish churches that are still thriving to this very day. Kingsley was a man of great integrity who treated everyone with honor and respect; he walked in Godly love as described in 1Corinthians 13:3-5 of The Bible: he was patient and kind, he was not boastful or proud, he did not envy nor did he dishonor others, he was forgiving - keeping no record of wrongdoings, he was not easily angered nor was he self-seeking. Being a humanitarian to the core, he loved others both in word and in action; heeding the command of Christ to love our neighbor as we love ourselves; he often gave sacrificially to those in need.  He completed his race and is now in heaven with Our Lord Jesus Christ. We too as born-again Christians will be in heaven, we will see brother Kingsley again, and we will be with him forevermore.  Kingsley is survived by a wife, four children, and four siblings.  Kingsley is not dead he is alive in Christ – he is now more alive than ever before.  Let us rejoice that our brother is now in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ – our hope of endless glory!
