Lamonte "McFly" Johnston was born on September 23rd, 1985 to Daphne Johnston and Lamonte Watson at Brooklyn Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.

Lamonte attended P.S. 197 for Elementary School and then he later attended West Middle School, The 9th Grade Center, and then Brentwood High School (Sonderling Center) in Long Island.

Lamonte was very helpful throughout the neighborhood in East New York. He aspired to be a rapper, and would create songs and beats in his bedroom/studio with his friends. He loved riding motorcycles and fixing them. He was fearless and fly. Lianna had a special bond with her dad, and he loved her with all his heart. And that's how she got the name "Buddy" because they were so close.

Lamonte was preceded in death by his grandparents Evelyn and Eddie, his aunts Evelyn and Edna, his uncles Charlie, Buddy, Eddie, Terry, and Jo Jo.

Lamonte leaves to cherish his memory: his loving mom; Daphne, his father Lamonte, his stepfather Alvin; his sisters Latoya and Zenobia, his brothers Edwin and Jaylen. His stepbrother AJ. His children Nalaysia and Lianna. His nephews Devin, Dillan, Marcus, Ryan, and Joshua Jr., and his niece Madison. And other family members and friends.
