Obituary

Lyndell Smith, 56, of Wallington New Jersey, passed away on December 6, 2023, after a very sudden decline in his health.

Lyndell was born on October 16, 1967, to Larry A. "Smokey" Noble and Magdelene Brown in Brooklyn, New York. He went on to study at St. John's University. After graduating with his degree, he kickstarted a successful and fulfilling career at Digital Realty, where he was respected and loved by his colleagues and friends.

Odie and Lyndell originally met in 1998 in the beautiful city of New York but their lives took them on different paths until they reconnected and chose each other as life partners on September 28, 2019. Lyndell and Odie went on to share four children, Nicholas Antonio Smith, Kalyn Jalina Smith, Eva Rose Morales, Evan Jaden Smith, and one granddaughter, Kamrynn Dior Smith.

Lyndell was my everything.  I fell for him from the first moment I saw him. He loved cooking mac & cheese for Sunday dinners. He enjoyed listening to Luther Vandross, Carl Thomas, and other old-school music. He liked watching Martin, Married with Children, and the current movies that were out.

He LOVED his kids with all his heart. He was the BEST DAD and uncle. He was a protector and always made us feel safe. He was a great husband and my greatest love. I loved when he acted all funny when I would hug and kiss him. He would tell me to get off but loved every bit of it. He also was always working from wherever he was.  He loved playing chess with his dad, or dominos with us.

Lyndell was predeceased by his father Larry A.  Noble, who died on June 8, 2022.

He is survived by his wife Odalis "Odie" Morales Smith, his children Nicholas Antonio Smith, Kalyn Jalina Smith, Eva Rose Morales, Evan Jaden Smith, his mother Magdelene Brown, and his granddaughter Kamrynn Dior Smith,  his seven siblings, Shawana Brown,  James Smith, Lisa Smith, Lena Smith, Jewel Smith, Isaac Smith, Marvin Jermaine Smith, a host of nieces and nephews, and many loyal friends and extended family members.

To My Son

His loving mother, Magdelene remembers him as a beloved son. Lyndell from the time you were born you were very strong and full of energy and vibrant. You always watched to see if I was happy or sad you came always to my rescue when I needed it. you are my buddy who would joke around with me and play games all while you were growing up into the man that you became. Whenever I needed anything, you were always there to help me. You would call me at times, and you would say Mom do you need anything. Although, I know I need your help I would say Son I am ok. Later on, that day I would look and money would be in my account. I would realize later that he sent it to help me. When you were younger you used to call yourself Panama. I didn't necessarily understand why but you always had a way about you that made you unique from everybody else. These qualities translated as you became older, and you made a good life for yourself and your family. So, I can see that these same qualities other people see in you and allow you to become who you were. The qualities of creativity, understanding, and love made you, my son.

All the memories I have of you from your birth until the moments of your passing. Even now as my heart bleeds for your passing, I will miss you with all my heart. Love you, Son!

To Our Dad

His adoring children, Nicholas, Kalyn, and Evan would like to remember him in the following way.

The time we had, Dad wasn't nearly enough to pack in an entire lifetime of love. How do we say goodbye to someone who's been with us our whole lives? There are so many questions. That we need answers to, but now that you're gone there's no way to ask you. But there are still photos to remember you by, each time we look at them, we want to cry.

They say grief is easier to bear as time goes by, but that doesn't stop us from wondering why. You were always on our side whether right or wrong you could fix anything. Why our dear, sweet dad was taken so soon? When he was, our guiding star, our sun, and our moon. You were our superhero; no weakness in sight and you will always be no matter the time. There are no answers To a question like this. So we will cherish your memory, and mourn the years we'll miss. You gave us our name and the color of our eyes so we know you'll always be with us because with one look in the mirror, we can see u laughing back at us. We love you 1000!
