Our Beloved Mahalia Wiggins, daughter of the late Floyd and Ellen Eaddy was born on May 27 1957 in Hemingway, S,C. Affectionately known as  "Day" to her family.  She attended NYS public schools where she was known for her beautiful handwriting as well as being a bright student. All of her teachers loved her.  She Graduated from Richmond Hill HS and attended the borough of Manhattan Community College where she earned her BA and became a nurse. She worked at Bellevue Hospital in labor and delivery. Thus was her career.

She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Larry Wiggins they had no children; she was the Godmother to Brittany Nicholson.

On Friday September 27, 2024 The Lord called her home/.  Her battle with cancer was over.   Mahalia was a beautiful and loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and niece and friend. She loved to laugh and loved her music even more.  " Day" always kept the faith and referred to psalm 27. Her First church was BridgeStreet AME.  Cherished and adored by family and others. Generous to her sisters.

She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memories: her sisters; Audrey Eaddy-Francis, Kathy Eaddy and Kell Israel. Husband; Larry Wiggins nephews, Alfonso Lee Jr. of Charlotte NC and Darnell Francis Jr. and God nephew; Noah Thom, great nephew; Nigel Amir Blake and Sehki Francis, nieces: Brittany Nicholson, Imani Jones of Brooklyn NY and Tavia Lee of Charlotte NC, great niece; Shiera Francis and a host of cousins, aunts and friends She will be missed.
