Marie Mosely was born July 2, 1937, to the late Robert Sigler and Matilda Sigler in
Hybart, Alabama in Wilcox county. She attended Beatrice Public School in Alabama.
On January 16, 2022, at the age of 84, Marie was peacefully called home.
Marie was raised in Hybart Alabama where at the age of 18 she met and married Felix
Mosely Sr. In the early 60s, they decided to move the family to New York in search of
better opportunities. From that union came the blessing of 6 children. When in New
York, Marie found the last love of her life, Benjamin Jenkins, and from that union, two
children were born.
Marie was a loveable woman. She was an avid member of Wayside Baptist Church.
She loved socializing at the Community Center, where she participated in several
activities. Marie loved cooking and sewing. She nurtured and protected her family and
often said in her high-pitched voice "Don't take no wooden nickels".
Marie was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend who will be missed by all
that knew her.
Preceded Marie in death were Felix Mosely Sr., Benjamin Jenkins, her four children:
Jimalee, Eric, Hank, Crystal; eight siblings: Allie-Mae White (sister), James Sigler
(Brother), Robert Sigler( Brother), Tallie Sigler (Sister), Louis Sigler (Brother), Peter
Sigler (Brother), Julius Sigler (Brother), Geraldine Franklin (Sister)
She leaves to mourn: Siblings Hester Gray, Annie Olds, Mary Hawkins, Cynthia James,
Karlic Sigler in Mobile, Alabama; Children: Felix Mosely Jr, Walter Mosely, Constance
Mosely, Benjamin Jenkins; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 adopted
granddaughters, Julia Meade-Whitfield, Aisha Freeman, Regina Paige, and Rhonda
Hendrickson & a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her Wayside
family.
Her laugh, her smile, her voice, and her very presence are not forgettable they are
unfathomable and irreplaceable.
