Obituary

Melvin was born on February 9, 1949, to the late Howard and Cora McCray in Brooklyn NY, he was the first of two children born to his parents. Melvin was married to the late Geraldine McCray and leaves behind two children, Rosita, and Kareem and two stepchildren Charles and Elliot, Melvin was very comical and loved to entertain people. Early on Melvin was a great dad. He loved to take his children on vacations and have picnics and loved a good cowboy movie while cooking his favorite pot of beans. Overall, he was a fun guy and made us laugh constantly, always had jokes and was quick with the tongue.

Melvin McCray was called home to eternal rest on January 28, 2024, in the Bronx NY. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard, and Cora McCray; and one brother Butch McCray.

Melvin leaves to cherish in his memory, one daughter, Rosita May, and one son Kareem McCray, six grand kids, StarAsia, Taquon, Kareem, Lakeem, Shaheem, and Tamia. 10 great grandchildren, one mother-in-law Maggie Staton, six sisters-in-law, and two brothers in law; and a host of relatives and friends. Melvin will truly be missed.

Family Tributes

It has been a pleasure being your daughter. We faced many trials and tribulations, but through it all our love remained. All that I have left are memories. Thank you for teaching me how to swim how to cook a pot of beans and understanding forgiveness and keeping hope in those you love.

P.S Those funny faces You made to make us laugh I'll never forget; - Rosita.
