Obituary

Norman Melvyn Conner was born to Gwendolyn and Henry Conner Sr. on January 29, 1944. He was raised in Brooklyn, NY along with his siblings, Florence, Joyce, Stephanie, Donald, Robert and Henry Jr.

Norman was married to Lorraine, was a loving father to Sean and Stacey, and was deeply proud of them both.  He and Stacey shared a passionate belief in Christ and they both looked forward to their weekly worship at Christian Cultural Center.

When Stacey went home to be with the Lord, it was his relationship with God, the church community that helped him through.  He served as usher and was a part of the Men's Fellowship at church.  That is where Norman met his now late wife Sandra and, although their time together was short, it was full of tremendous love.  Just weeks before his transition to heaven, Norman was in the process to serve in the "Keepers of God's House" ministry at Brooklyn Tabernacle Church.

Never missing an opportunity to be a beacon of light, Norman was very enthusiastic in sharing the ways in which God turned his trials into testimonies. He always expressed gratitude for God's blessings in his life.  Rarely to be seen without his Bible, this man of God was the epitome of a true Christian.

Norman loved spending the holidays with his niece's Raven, Minioune and Mahogany, and talking about the Lakers with his friend's Lenny and Derek. He had found memories of completing marathons with his brother Donald and was very proud of the medals they received. Stacey's best friend, Nicole, was like a daughter to him and he enjoyed their frequent outings. He and his niece Ta-ning often shared their favorite Scriptures with one another, as well as their favorite gospel songs. His niece Gwendolyn (Sissy) will miss his reminders to keep trusting in God.

Norman is survived by his brother Donald, many nieces and nephews, good friends and his church family.  His positive outlook on life and his daily inspirational text messages will be sorely missed by all.
