Rafael "Fale" Mercado Jr., beloved son of Genoveva Almodovar and Rafael Mercado (deceased) died suddenly on Tuesday, April 19 at 5:30 am of a brain aneurysm. He was 56 years old.

Fale, as he was known, was born September 15, 1965 and was raised in Brooklyn. He received his GED diploma in 1989 and worked as a porter, in security and he enjoyed working at Hunter College in the maintenance department for many years. Most recently he worked as a cook in several restaurants and food chains in New York City.

Fale was a huge sports fan with The Mets being his favourite baseball team. In Basketball, he watched the Brooklyn Nets and loved the Philadelphia 76'ers among others. He loved action movies and his favourite actor was Antonio Banderas. We will cherish and fondly remember and can still laugh at his love of the movie The Toxic Avenger.

Our beloved, Fale was a simple, introverted man who did not seek fame, wealth, or material possessions, his joy was "doing life" alongside his Mother Geno. He and his recently departed baby brother Epifanio were both unapologetically Mami's boys.
