Ruth Lorraine Massey was born January 29 ^th 1953 to Jesse Massey Sr. and Geneva Massey in Brooklyn, New York. Ruth was the second eldest of the girls in the family, and holding the best title of all; "The second mother in the family".

Ruth attended Madison High school where she excelled in all of her studies. Ruth blessed with a beautiful operatic voice and was often asked by many to perform at weddings, anniversaries, birthday, bridal showers, and just about any event. In her spare time Ruth was a devout Jehovah Witness of her congregation for many years believing in Love, Justice, Wisdom and the Faith of Power.

Ruth's passion for helping people guided her to work for the Board of Education immediately upon graduating from high school. Ruth landed her first job as an administrative asst.  within the District 19 unit in the East New York section of Brooklyn working there for many years. Ruth decided to transfer to the Transit Police Dept. District 33   working in the communications division where her love for helping others continued and eventually retiring from her position on August 9 ^th 2014.

Ruth leaves to cherish her memory are her devoted siblings Lorenzo, Jesse Jr. and Judith. Alongside a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, grandnieces, cousins, other relatives and friends who will cherish countless loving memories.
