Samuel "Frankie"
Gray
May 15, 1956 — Mar 14, 2022
Brooklyn
On May 15, 1956, Samuel Frank Gray, Jr., was blessed with life to his parents Samuel Frank Gray, Sr., and his
wife, Sis. Mary Ann. Samuel was called Frank or Frankie by everyone who knew him. He was a wonderful son and
stepson of the late David Coleman. Frankie was a very pleasant and happy person. He had a motto for everyday;
Live, Love and Laugh.
Frankie was a God-fearing man whose faith earned him an extension on life. His love for his family was exceptional.
Frankie completed his education at Boys High School in Brooklyn, NY with honors in Math and Social Studies.
Frankie was a force to be reckoned with on the basketball court, known for his blocks, dunks and hoops. His love for
music allowed him to entertain the neighborhood for many years and earned him accolades to play with D.J. "Flakes"
spinning the turntables.
Frankie devoted his working career at Royal Prudential Cleaning Company as a maintenance worker and was
promoted to Supervisor. He extended his work ethics into cleaning the House of Prayer (Brooklyn No. 2) under
Apostle O.L. Sowell and Brooklyn No. 1 under the previous pastors, Honorary National Evangelist, Apostle L.
Summers, Apostle H. Thompson, Apostle Webb, Elder M. Scott, Evangelist Elder Smith and Elder M. Kilcrease, Jr.
Every year during Convocation, without any hesitation, we could depend on Frankie to clean our kitchen here at
Brooklyn No. 1. This was his contribution to working in the House of Prayer until his health began to fail.
As we visited him daily, his voice had become impaired; he could only offer us his handsome smile. During his long
period of illness, his faith increased daily through the Grace products, applied to his body daily.
On March 14, 2022, Frankie answered the call of God as he called his name.
He leaves to mourn his mother, Mary Ann Coleman; four sisters, Patricia, Celes, Marlisa and Dennor (Dina); one
brother-in-law, Larry; one step-daughter, Nakisha; two nephews, Bobby and Patrick; three nieces, Kameka, Robinn
and Kristian; four great nieces, Bobbi, Briayera, Briayana and Nevach and a host of family members and friends
