Sandra
Ford
Oct 17, 1964 — Jan 25, 2026
Brooklyn
Sandra Ford was born on October 17, 1964 at Brooklyn Jewish Hospital to the late Leroy and Mae Ford. She received her wings on January 25, 2026 at The Four Seasons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
As a young scholar Sandra attended elementary school at PS 56, she then attended junior high school at MS 258, and completed her academic journey at Boys & Girls High School.
To know Sandra, is to know that she was witty, strong minded, outgoing, and she did not play about her respect or her family. Growing up, Sandra faced trials and tribulations, but when she bounced back, she never looked back. She is what one would call, a success story. She never hid who she was, and was always truthful about the challenges she faced, because she was head strong on never revisiting those challenges again.
Although her younger years were tumultuous, that was no roadblock for the becoming of who Sandra Ford truly was. When she entered the workforce, she chose a career in human services where she worked closely with clients in homelessness prevention. She would soon become a neighborhood activist. She was very big on volunteer work, advocating for tenants rights, and canvassing for politicians she believed in. She was known for hosting block parties, card games, bus rides to Atlantic city, and being an all around pillar in the community. Sandra was also an amazing writer, she would write beautiful poems, short autobiographies, letters to her loved ones and sometimes she would even bust out rapping something that she wrote in her free time. Unbeknownst to her and her loved ones, Sandra would face the adversity of becoming disabled, but that also was no roadblock for her. Sandra still attended every Bobby Brown concert that was in town, she still made her way to Atlantic City, and she still hosted and attended card games. She was a force to be reckoned with, and defeat was not something she was familiar with.
Sandra was proceeded in death by her parents, Leroy and Mae Ford; brothers, Donald and Rodney; sisters, Gerdale, Shirley, Ida, and Bridget.
She leaves to mourn 5 children, Shafikqua Ford, Rodney McFarlane, Tanikqua McFarlane, Dominiqua McFarlane, and Yazminda Atkins; 4 grandchildren, Sakai, Xzander, Mazzi, and Nasir; 8 Brothers, Ronald, Duane, Leroy F., Clarence, Calvin, Horace, Leroy W., and Dana; 7 sisters, Sharon, Patricia, Debra, Robin, Passion, Prechaus, and Pryncess; a God-Sister Evangeline, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
