Shakima Nicole Woolward was born on the 14 ^th of April in 1977. She transitioned on the 10 ^th of August 2022.

Shakima was the first child of 8 of Denise Williams' children and the 3 ^rd child of Alexton Woolward's children. Shakima was born on the island of St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. She moved to New York with her parents when she was 16 months old. Everyone who was fortunate enough to know her remembers her for her excellent hairstyling skills, dancing, DJ'ing and being a dedicated and fiercely protective mother.

Shakima spent her last days dedicated to her kids. She gathered and unified the family even though she was suffering in silence through depression and battling cancer. She was a good, kind and passionate person and made an unforgettable impact on so many people's lives.

Shakima walked away from all of her pain and troubles and with all the love she had and gave she will truly be missed as she goes home.

Shakima leaves to cherish loving memories: her parents, Denise, Alexton aka Kimdu and her stepfather Jose. Her four children, Romiesha, Michaela, Adonis and Achilles. Her siblings Ikim, Hasan, Nandi, Omar, Jomo, Amandla, Djani and a host of other siblings. Her maternal grandparents, Ralph and Mildred Williams as well and her aunt Joyce and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

We love Shakima more than words could possibly say and she will live in our hearts forever.
