Shirley Folks was born on August 12th, 1944 to Anna Mae Holmes and Ulysses Folks in Brooklyn, New York.

Shirley Folks was educated in the New York City School System in Bedford Stuyvesant, New York. She worked at Cabs Home Care Agency for 41 years before retiring in April 2021.

Shirley enjoyed the outdoors, being around people, she loved music, enjoyed cooking, shopping and she loved making people laugh.

Shirley Folks departed this earth on Friday; December 22, 2023 and she is now free of the sorrow of this world and a new journey has begun!

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; Anna Mae Holmes and Ulysses Folks, three sisters; Anna Mae Jackson, Barbara Folk and Thelma Folk, three brothers; Lee Folk, John Holmes and Nathaniel Holmes and one grandchild; Tiffany Renee Simmons, may they all be blessed and rest in peace.

Shirley leaves behind her beloved children; Cheryl Folks and Donna Simmons, seven grandchildren; Chanel Folks, Jermel Folks, Chaniza Folks, Tamika Folks, Tyrone Folk, Ebony Simmons and Jerrel Folk, five great grandchildren; Aaron White, Aaliyah Folks McDonald, Autum Marie Folks, Jerliyah Folks McDonald and Amire Simmons, two great great grandchildren; Chelsea Jay White and Aaron Whites Jr., her sisters; Rosie Williams, Debra Holmes, Alberta Folk, Patricia Thompson and Louise Stallings and one brother; Frank Stallings and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
