Obituary

On Monday January 17 2022, Our Beloved Shirley Mae Bailey Ford quietly entered into eternal rest at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Shirley was born on July 24, 1937 to the late James and Ada Bailey. Shirley was educated in the Norfolk County Public school system, where she excelled. Shirley accepted Christ as her personal Savior as a child and was baptized at Willow Grove Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA. Shirley held on to her strong faith in God, and it was that faith that help her ease on into her transition to eternal peace.
Shirley Married Albert D Ford in 1958 and moved to New York. Shirley earned a living in the laundry industry for the NYC hospitals, where she retired. Shirley was also a long standing member of her neighborhood block association. Shirley lived a full and happy life, and was always the life of the party.  Shirley enjoyed botany and always tried to keep the inside as well as the outside of her homes blooming with plants and flowers.
Shirley leaves to Grieve for her, her son Gerald Lorin Bailey (Linda), Her Godson Keith Smith, her brother Belvin Bailey Sr. (Ada also deceased). She was preceded in death by her oldest sister Ethel Bailey Powell (James also deceased), and her youngest brother Joseph "J.C. Bailey Sr. (Evelyn), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends
May Shirley rest in peace knowing that God has her now, OBSOLVING her of all the burdens, cares and ills of this world.
