Obituary

William Hayes, 60, of Brooklyn, NY passed away suddenly from an undetected brain aneurysm. William aka "Dollar Bill" was born on September 5, 1963 in Bridgeton, NJ. He started his education in Southern New Jersey, and continued his education in New York State. William held various jobs in the New York City and Southern NJ areas.

William will be remembered by countless loved ones, friends and colleagues. His comedic timing, protective nature, repairmen skills, and his love for his family were undeniable.

Dollar Bill was hilarious, and could make a joke out of anything. His unassuming figure disguised his protective nature, he protected the women around him, especially his sisters, nieces, partner and their family. William was a self taught repairman and carpenter. If you needed expert renovations with little expenses, Will was the one to go to, he could find low-expense materials too. No matter the season or weather, rain, hail, sleet or snow, William would ride a bike. If it had a wheel, William would ride it.

One day in 2004, while walking in Red Hook, probably with a recently found branch, he saw Brenisha Ellison and they fell in love. Brenisha, her daughters and Will were a loving family. He brought a light into their lives that WILL never burn out

William joins in heaven his parents Annie and Walter E. Hayes, sister Geraldine Hayes Thompson, brother Lewis Hayes, nieces Yvette and Melissa, nephews Andre and Walter aka Stinka, and his little angels.

William aka Dollar Bill leaves to cherish his memory: five sisters, Elizabeth Riley Hayes, Alice Hayes, Lorraine Harris, Jeannette Hayes, and Jane Hayes, one brother Charles Hayes and sister in law Barbara Hayes, brother in-law Steven Harris, his partner Brenisha Ellison and her 2 daughters, Uncle Samuel "Buck" Riley, nieces, nephews, cousins,  and a host of family and friends.
